There are two separate job announcements open for the position of Manager of
the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary, in the northwest Gulf of
Mexico.  The site, which consists of two submerged banks containing coral
reefs and other tropical habitats, and a third bank containing a low diversity
but highly productive coral and sponge community, is one twelve protected
areas administered by NOAA's National Marine Sanctuary Program.  The Flower
Gardens Sanctuary Manager oversees the administrative, resource protection,
education, research, and enforcement programs of the sanctuary.  

One of the position announcements is for non-federal employees who wish to
apply (Ònon-statusÓ), the other is for applicants who are currently federal
employees (ÒstatusÓ).
