First International Symposium on Deep Sea Corals
Science and Conservation of Deep Sea Corals

30 July - 2 August, 2000

Dalhousie University
Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

The purpose of the Symposium is to review, discuss and synthesize all
aspects of deep sea, cold water coral biology, ecology, and conservation.
The symposium will also address climatic reconstruction using corals and
technologies available to map corals. The Symposium will be convened for
two and one half days and is open to scientists, managers, ocean users and
all those with an interest in deep sea corals.

1 February 2000	        Pre-registration form and
                        Provisional abstracts

1 June 2000		Final early registration and fees
                        Final abstracts

30 July 2000	        Final paper

The First International Symposium on Deep Sea Corals is sponsored by the
Ecology Action Centre, Dalhousie University, the Nova Scotia Museum of
Natural History, the Science and Management of Protected Areas
Association, World Wildlife Fund Canada, And the Department of Fisheries
and Oceans, Canada.
