Folks,
    I am completing a search on methods used in quantitative coral reef
community ecology.   Specifically, I would like to find references for the
history and use of the plot / quadrant sampling method.

Also, does anyone know of an earlier reference for the use of aerial
photography in reef ecology?  I have:
Kumpf & Randall (1961) Charting the marine environments... Bull. Mar. Sci.
11:543-51

Any comments or references would be much appreciated!
