Coral tumour??

Hi all
I noticed recently one tabular coral with strange outgrowths on the upper surface. In fact these outgrowths varied in size and had unusual number of corallites and tentacles. Are corals prone to tumours? if so, is it due to some endogenous factors? any literature i could refer to?
