FACULTY OF SCIENCE

SCHOOL OF BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES

The following two appointments are now available to support our
strategic developments in Marine Biology. We are looking for dynamic and
enthusiastic individuals addressing fundamental research questions and
who are committed to research-led teaching. You should be able to forge
collaborative links with existing research groups, whilst developing
independent research programmes. We are particularly keen to strengthen
the collaboration with our research partners at the Marine Biological
Association and the Plymouth Marine Laboratory, and linked appointments
with access to their research facilities can be made, where appropriate.
For further information on the School, please visit our website:
http://www.plymouth.ac.uk/pages/view.asp?page=6139

For the Readership posts, you should be highly-motivated candidates with
strong leadership qualities and an international reputation as evidenced
by publications and grant income. Lecturers/Senior Lecturers should have
at least two-three years' post-doctoral experience, a strong publication
record relative to experience and the potential to develop independent
research programmes funded from external grant-awarding bodies.

MARINE BIOLOGY

These two posts will support our growing reputation in Marine Science.
Any specialism within the broad topic of Marine Biology will be
considered, although we are keen to appoint candidates who bring novel
techniques and approaches to solving basic biological questions at the
organism and/or sub-organism level.
