Coral Reef monitoring.

Sunday   27 June 2004 the GCRMN, Reef Check and ReefBase will hold a meeting in Okinawa  in the  Okinawa Convention Centre, Ginowan for all people interested in coral reef monitoring. The meeting is open for discussion on monitoring, methods, indicators, cooperation and any other aspects. Here is a schedule: 

1000 - 1400 - GCRMN East Asian Meeting (lunch break: 12noon to 1pm) - presentations on the status of reefs in Southeast and East Asia - sponsored by the Ministry of the Environment.

1400 - 1600 - GCRMN, Reef Check and ReefBase meeting (for Asia and other Nodes). This will focus on how to improve monitoring and communication. All welcome.

1600 - 1700 -  Meet the GCRMN Management Group - A Meeting for all GCRMN and Reef Check people especially Node Coordinators to meet the senior decision makers in the GCRMN

1700 - 1900- GCRMN Management Group and key supporters meeting Part 1 

Tuesday 29 June at 08.00 in the morning there will be session 4-1-  Status of Coral Reef of the World 1994, 2004 and 2014: Recommendations from 80 Nations for Remediation Chairs: Clive Wilkinson, Gregor Hodgson, Jamie Oliver ( VENUE: MAIN HALL - provisional time and place)

Then at 1600 - late GCRMN Management Group Meeting Part 2 (continuation of 27-JUN-04 meeting)

Friday 02 July from 14:30~16:00 there will be the joint GCRMN + ICRI Poster Session before the ICRI meeting. This will feature  100 posters - about 80 GCRMN Status of coral reefs of countries and regions and others from ICRI partners (ICRAN, ReefBase, Reef Check, CORDIO etc). We hope to provide some drinks and to launch various books for free distribution.
