Entry-level Environmental Scientist/Policy Analyst
I.M. Systems Group, Inc.

Introduction and Description:  I.M. Systems Group is a small consulting
firm that provides professional management and information technology
services to projects with schedule and technical challenges.   I.M.
Systems Group is seeking to fill a full time, entry-level environmental
scientist/policy analyst contract position.  The position will help
support NOAA’s Coral Reef Conservation Program in the National Ocean
Service (NOS) office in Silver Spring, Maryland.  The office provides
staff support to the coordinator of the program, and assists with
priority setting, budgeting and overall management of the program.  The
NOAA Coral Reef Conservation Program is a NOAA wide program with
participation from four different line offices:  the National Ocean
Service, National Marine Fisheries Service, Oceanic and Atmospheric
Research, and the National Environmental Satellite Data and Information
Service.

Position Description:  This position primarily involves assisting with
program coordination and development.  This includes maintaining a
web-based internal information site, developing and editing website
content, editing and distributing program newsletters, managing the NOAA
Coral Reef Project Database, coordinating meetings, drafting program
guidance, contributing to outreach and communication activities, and
exploring program opportunities.  Travel may be required.  The
approximate salary for the position is in the upper-$30s.  I.M. Systems
Group provides a competitive benefits package including 401(K).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Minimum qualifications include:
· a bachelor’s degree in environmental science or policy (or a related
field);
· an interest in coral reef conservation;
· excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills;
· ability to work well independently and in groups;
· the ability to multi-task and be innovative;
· knowledge of and experience with Web site development and maintenance;

· a familiarity with standard word processing and spreadsheet programs.

In addition, preferred skills include:
· Familiarity with database tracking systems; specific training for the
NOAA Coral Reef Projects Database system will be provided.
