I working on an article (for a popular magazine, not a scientific journal) on
the 1983 die-off of Diadema antillarum, and what has happened since (evidence
of recovery, impact on reefs, etc.). I was wondering if anyone might offer
any especially good references. Is there anything like Jan Sapp's wonderful book
on COTS, "What is Natural?." I have a copy of Birkland's Life and Death of
Coral Reefs, but would like to find more up-to-date info. Any suggestions would
be greatly appreciated. Or, if some expert would like to talk, I'd love to do
a phone interview.
