U.S. Coral Reef Task Force Meeting, Dec 1-4, Miami, FL

The next meeting of the U.S. Coral Reef Task Force (USCRTF) will be held
December 2-3 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Miami, Florida. There will
also be a series of public seminars and workshops on December 1st and
December 4th sponsored by the USCRTF.

General schedule of events is listed below. For detailed agendas,
meeting registration and other information please go to
http://www.ces.fau.edu/taskforce.  DEADLINE FOR RESERVING HOTEL ROOMS IS
NOV 15.

The USCRTF meeting is open to the public, and exhibit space is
available.  Meeting attendees are requested to register.  REGISTRATION
IS
REQUIRED FOR EXHIBITS.  See below for more information on exhibits,
lodging etc.

GENERAL SCHEDULE

 Wednesday, December 1st: 
 8:00-5:00 Exhibitor setup 
 3:00-5:00 Workshop 1: Sustainable Diving and Snorkeling Practices

 Thursday, December 2nd: 
 8:30-5:00  U.S. Coral Reef Task Force Meeting 

 Friday, December 3rd: 
 8:30-5:00  U.S. Coral Reef Task Force Meeting 

 Saturday, December 4th: 
 8:30-3:00  Workshop 2: Improving Science and Management of Florida's
Coral Reef Ecosystems
 3:30-5:00  Workshop 3: Damage Assessment and Restoration Protocols for
Coral Reef Habitats

SPECIFIC INFORMATION on rooms, exhibits, parking and shipping of
materials or exhibits:

ROOMS
RESERVATIONS MUST BY MADE BY NOVEMBER 15TH . A group rate of $138.00 per
night is available for the meeting at the Intercontinental Hotel.  In
order to obtain the group rate RESERVATIONS
MUST BY MADE BY NOVEMBER 15TH .    Call the Hotel Reservations
Department directly at (800) 327-3005 and identify your self as a member
of the "Task Force Groups" when making the reservation.

MEETING PARKING
Daily rate of $7.00
Overnight rate of $18.00

EXHIBITS
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR EXHIBITS.  Go to
http://www.ces.fau.edu/taskforce to register.  There is no charge to
exhibit.  Exhibits will be displayed in Mezzanine East on the second
floor.

Exhibit space includes a 6' skirted table and power outlet (limited
power-register
early). Check both boxes to exhibit and request power.

Exhibit setup is from 8am to 5pm on Wednesday, December 1, 2004.
Exhibit teardown is on Friday, December 3, from 5pm to Saturday,
December 4, 5pm.  Your exhibit space will be identified with a sign.
Keep
in mind that the major public workshops will be on Saturday, December 4
from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Shipping/Handling/Storage
Handling - Intercontinental charges a flat fee for handling:
   $7.50 per box under 75 lbs.
   $15.00 per box above 75 lbs.
   $125.00 per pallet

Storage and shipping - All boxes must be received by the
Intercontinental no earlier than Friday, November 26, 2004. All boxes
received before November 26th will be stored at a charge of $5/day/box;
$20/day/pallet. All boxes must be removed by Tuesday, December 7th to
avoid additional mailing charges (boxes must be pre-addressed and
sealed).
