Data Navigator South Florida is a free, user-friendly, online information
system covering South Florida and adjacent waters south of Lake Okeechobee.
It is designed for use by resource managers, policy-makers, scientists,
stakeholders, students, and the general public.

The Data Navigator consists of several hundred data layers distributed among
more than 20 mapping systems, accessible based on selected management
issues. The groupings are based on decision trees constructed in
consultation with reef managers. Currently, the data are primarily in GIS
form. Animations of hydrodynamics and other time series are available.
Future work will include tying in tables of field data and the incorporation
of scenario-testing interdisciplinary models.

Major partners in the development of Data Navigator South Florida include US
EPA, the Khalid bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation, the Florida Keys
National Marine Sanctuary, and the Biscayne National Park. We are grateful
to the large number of scientists and reef managers who helped us gain
access to the data sets.

Feel free to access the system at www.ncoremiami.org

Cheers!

John
