[Coral-List] Bioluminescence question

Good Day,

A lot of my friends and I have seen what looks like a bioluminescent 
"string of pearls" in the water column when diving at night without 
underwater lights.  Does anyone know what this might be?  I am also looking 
for any good references (especially websites) on non-dinoflagellate 
bioluminescence in the Caribbean.  Thanks in advance for your assistance!
