Lad, and Listers,
   
  What we would do, especially on "wormy" nights, would be to hold our lights so that the beam goes up and away from the coral of choice.  Then, when a goodly accumulation of critters were attracted, the beam of light would be turned toward the coral, sending the hapless wormies diving into the polyps.
