[Coral-List] Spring 2007 Coral Reef Field course: last chance

UNCW is offering a field-based, semester long, coral reef research
course, the field portion of which will be taught in Curacao.  There is
one opening left (because of housing arrangements, only female
applicants can be considered for this position) for a qualified
applicant who meets the following requirements:  (1)  scuba certified
with minimum of 12 dives;  (2)  GPA of 3.0 or better in marine biology
related curriculum;  (3)  graduate student or senior status who has
completed all basic course requirements for an undergraduate marine
biology degree except for electives.  Undergraduate students enroll for
12 credits while graduate students enroll for 6 credits (additional
credits available for international students who need more credits to
meet visa requirements).  The cost of the course is $5000 (includes all
travel to Curacao, lodging and course expenses while there) plus food
and personal expenses, UNCW tuition and living expenses while in
Wilmington for first and last parts of the course.  Special assistance
with tuition and travel to US (from Caribbean region) is available for

Deadline for applying is November 1, 2006.  UNCW classes start on
January 10, 2007 and run until May 3rd, 2007.
