[Coral-List] Funding Available - ICRS Mini Symposium 6 "Ecological and evolutionary genomics of coral reef organisms"

Dear Colleagues:
We would like to announce the availability of partial funding for
participants in Mini-Symposium 6, "Ecological and evolutionary
genomics of coral reef organisms", being held at the 11th ICRS in
Fort Lauderdale, July 7th-11th 2008. Preference will be given to
students and participants from developing countries. Interested
parties should contact one of the session organizers listed at the
bottom of this email.
We will have five invited speakers:
Dr. Ove Huegh-Guldbergh, University of Queensland.
“Gene expression in Symbiodinium under stress”
Dr. Forest Rohwer. San Diego State University
"Coral Reef Metagenomics"
Dr. Sandie Degnan, University of Queensland.
“Settling on the right genes: functional genomic approaches to
evolutionary ecology of marine invertebrate larval settlement”
Dr. Cheryl Woodley. DOC/NOAA/NOS/NCCOS

Dr. David Miller. James Cook University.

We welcome abstract submissions on these topics as well as all
aspects of “Ecological and evolutionary genomics of coral reef
organisms”.
We expect to have a long informal discussion at the end of the
session to discuss different aspects of genome science of benefit to
the coral reef community. Interested parties should also contact the
organizers directly to add your topic to the agenda.
When submitting your abstracts, please use the session code: Mini-
Symposium 6. The deadline for abstract submission is 15 December 2007.
