Hi, Mark Spalding and Michael Risk.

Regarding pollution and what we can do. Mark, I strongly support your
thoughts about our conferences. We (coral reef researchers including
myself) are presently one big group of jokes when we are all very
worried about the pollution and its effects on the tropical coral reef
and then we happily all participate in super-polluting conferences. We
should be the first to conduct "green conferences". We are not. Not yet.
May the 12 Coral reef Symp be a GREEN CONFERENCE and everything online
the Internet. Constructive suggestions are needed. NOW.

To Michael Risk: We need immediately to discuss how to implement
the use of electric cars powered up by windmills. Discussions of
whether a Hummer is less polluting than a Rolls Royce is rather
sterile in my view.
