Dear Colleagues:
Apologies for any cross postings.
I would like to invite anyone interested to submit a paper to the Aquatic
Invasive Species session at the 21st Annual Conference, PACON 2008 in
Honolulu, HI June 1-5, 2008.
In this session, I would like to encourage broad scope topics dealing with
both freshwater and marine invasive species issues. Hawaii has it share
of invasive species problems and sessions like this can be vital to
communicate similar issues across large spatial scales. With increased
communication across the Pacific region, we can achieve both increased
awareness and improved management of invasive species issues. To build
off increasing regional awareness and initiatives of invasive species
issues, sessions like this will serve to bring the experts together with
people on the ground directly managing invasive species.
I am particularly interested in the advances of technologies for the
management of marine invasive species topics that address eradication,
control , early detection, and most importantly prevention. Topics
dealing with the advances of molecular tools for detection and protocols
for vessel hulls are of particular interest.

Abstracts are due February 29, 2008. Please let me know for further
questions and interest.
I hope to see you in Honolulu this summer.
Aloha
Tony
