[Coral-List] What can scientists do?? A story.

First, let me admit that I am an engineer, not a scientist, but with a 
little biology in me.

Several years ago, I started giving talks to dive clubs, at resorts, to 
high schools, at colleges, etc.  Subjects: brief introduction to coral 
reef ecology, threats to coral reefs, and status of coral reefs.

I gave the talk at a well-known resort on a well-known Caribbean 
destination.  After the talk, the manager requested that I not return to 
his resort.  Reason: the story was too depressing!!

Well that could be my fault, but look about you.
