 We have a opening in the Virgin Islands Office of The Nature
Conservancy for a Director of Government Relations for the US Caribbean
Territories. 

The Director of Government Relations is a member of the Southeast
Caribbean Program of The Nature Conservancy's Insular Caribbean
Operating Unit.  S/he plans, implements and coordinates a comprehensive
program for the Virgin Islands and geographies in the Eastern Caribbean
to affect government policy and legislation at all levels to further the
Conservancy's mission of preserving biological diversity.  S/he ensures
that the program complies with federal lobbying laws and regulations,
and monitors legislative and administrative initiatives and policies,
which are related to the mission or programs of TNC.  Duties include
regular contact with local, territorial, state and federal officials
regarding matters pertaining to administrative and legislative actions
related to the mission of The Nature Conservancy, and public fund
raising activity to increase the level of financial support for TNC
projects and priorities.  The Director of Government Relations
represents The Nature Conservancy before state and local agencies and
special interest groups, and works among key government officials to
increase support for TNCs mission and programs.
