Dear colleagues,

“Physical Processes of Coral Reef Ecosystems” is the only coral specific
session planned for the upcoming Western Pacific Geophysical Meeting
(WPGM) in Cairns, Australia, 29July-01August 2008. This session (OS09)
is part of the Ocean Sciences program.

We invite your abstracts for oral and poster presentations (submission
deadline: 16 April 2008) through the website:
http://www.agu.org/meetings/wp08/.

The session description is:
The health, composition and diversity of coral reef ecosystems can be
influenced by various physical processes including temperature, light,
currents, waves, etc. Monitoring (both in situ and remotely-sensed) and
modelling of these variables assists in understanding their effect on
the coral ecosystem. Descriptions of links between physical and
biological (physiological) processes are encouraged, including impacts
related to climate change.

Cairns is located at the very heart of the Asia Pacific region in a
tropical paradise that is fringed by the Great Barrier Reef and World
Heritage Rainforest.

Please distribute this notice to any parties who may be interested. We
look forward to seeing you in Cairns!

Yours truly,

Scott Heron, William Skirving, Craig Steinberg
Conveners
