Juan,

Regarding digital photo image processing software, if you need software 
that will help with the monitoring and assessment of benthic features in 
your images, you might want to check out Coral Point Count with Excel 
extensions (CPCe). It allows you to point count the images to estimate 
percent cover, as well as calculate planar area.
