First of all, I thank you for your quick reply regarding this issue on behalf of my ill informed fellow clan and the surrounding communities as a whole.
Few days after the incident, I requested government officers in Vanimo to inspect the site.
Two fisheries officers and a rep from environment office in Vanimo went to the site and inspected the damage.
I am waiting for their report which promised to be available by this thursday 16th October,2008.
Also greenpeace Australia/Pacific were coincidentally in Vanimo during the period which they took few pictures and video footage.
I was also promised a report from them including shots of the incidents by 19th October, 2008/
Currently, they are in Indonesia and will be back by 19th October, 2008.
The fisheries officers were to interview the captain of the barge and I believe they will have the necessary information of the vessel available in their report.
Please, I am looking forward to any information helpful.
I would great appreciate on behalf of my clan and community group if you can help us to seek legal proceeding regarding this issue.
This is one of the many un reported incidents that happened in the small township of Vanimo with logging activities at its peak.
I once again appreciate your favorable help.
