Population dynamics of Caribbean coral reef fishes
Post-doctoral research scientist - 2 year position, University of Exeter

As part of a project looking at the effects of climate change and
fishing on coral reefs, applications are invited for a two year post-doc
position to develop population projection matrices (PPMs) of coral reef
fish. The post-doc will work with a reef ecologist, population
biologist, and mathematician to parameterize and analyze PPMs. Outputs
of the project will lead to the development of ecosystem-based fisheries
policies for coral reefs. Field work in the Bahamas is possible though
not mandatory.

The successful applicant should have a PhD and/or relevant post-doctoral
experience using PPMs of animal or plant populations. An ability to
programme in Matlab is essential and a working knowledge of robust
control would be advantageous. The position is open immediately.

Closing date for applications: 20th October 2008
