A campus-wide minority postdoctoral fellow program was recently established
at the University of Richmond, School of Arts and Sciences, Richmond, VA,
USA. We are trying to recruit someone to contribute to one of two NSF-funded
projects that focus on molecular systematics of the Porifera and
evolutionary, developmental, and ecological aspects of symbiosis involving
sponges and their microflora. This position would be particularly attractive
to someone considering a job at a primarily undergraduate institution that
has strong research expectations. Approximately 75% effort would be placed
on research, but meaningful teaching experiences would be acquired at a top
tier liberal arts college. The ideal candidate will have strengths in one or
more of the following areas: molecular ecology, evolution, development,
and/or molecular phylogenetics. The post-doc would interact and collaborate
with PIs April and Malcolm Hill who are committed to providing strong
mentorship in all respects of the post-doc¹s professional development.
Interested parties should contact either April (ahill2 at richmond.edu) or
Malcolm (mhill2 at richmond.edu). For more information about the University of
Richmond Biology Department please see http://biology.richmond.edu/
