Dear Listers
This is my reply exclusively to Jim's mail asking us to speak up....
I graduated in April this year (PhD) and as usual started looking for post doc opportunities..
I feel that many times the postings on the list for post doc or job opportunities is U.S.A specific...I repeat U.S.A specific....I wanted to tell this to Jim long time back...
Prospective Job searchers are looking anxiously to get job and I think since coral-list is International...only Jobs (Post Docs, Teaching jobs, Management Jobs) that can accommodate international applicants should be advertised through coral-list....
country specific jobs or nationality specific jobs need not be advertised on coral-list as it is very very...I repeat..very stressful for people and students who are looking for job opportunities when it says only U.S citizens or U.S work permit holders.....
I have experienced this stress from past six months......every time I see a Post doc or Job opportunity posted on the list I feel very happy and I think this time I can apply and if everything goes well I can get the Job, but when I see the requirements, it says...U.S citizenship is primary requirement...

It is stressful of course when it says specifically and mentions a particular nation's citizenship requirements for job application...
I am sure there are number of ways to advertise if the Job is only meant for U.S or say Japanese Citizens...or any country in particular....

I feel that since Coral-List has international membership...only those Jobs that do not care about nationality need to be advertised or posted into the list....

This is what I feel...and I am sure many upcoming job hunting, placement hungry graduates and researchers feel...

Regards
Shashank
