CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

RARE, the leader in using social marketing campaigns to achieve biodiversity conservation invites all organizations who are interested in launching a pride campaign to reduce overfishing and/or destructive fishing as well as to create or enhance the use of locally-managed marine areas in their community to apply for the 2010 year.

RARE PRIDE works with international, local, and governmental organizations around the world to train and support local leaders and communities to promote awareness and change behaviors to preserve their natural resources and environment. Local leaders who complete all coursework and run a successful campaign receive a Master's Degree in Communication. Thus far, Rare Pride has trained 158 local leaders in around the world, whose campaigns have influenced more than 6.8 Million people living in over 2,400 communities.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

 *   Campaign sites must be in the Pacific, India, Southeast Asia, and/or  Africa.
 *   Potential partner organizations must be able to provide an English-speaking staff member who can be dedicated full time to running the 2-year campaign.
 *   Chosen staff member for running campaign must be able to travel to Washington DC to attend training at Georgetown University.
