[Coral-List] critical tech note about 454

Hello colleagues:

to all of you doing 454 and/or SOLiD sequencing: please be aware  
(unless you already are) that these methods cannot directly sequence  
material extracted from an agarose gel that was stained with EtBr and  
imaged under UV. Emulsion PCR of such material may look great, but  
the number and quality of the reads will be very bad. The solution is  
to use gels stained with SYBR Safe and imaged under blue light.
