[Coral-List] Sahara Dust

Hello, Listers,

Here on St. Croix, there were several dry days of thick haze from Sahara dust.  Health officials cautioned people to stay inside, and to not touch it (??).  

There was a very brief rain shower, and the air stank of burnt asphalt or burnt clay, mud.  Very nasty, poisonous smelling.

There was a beginning of the "Jiggling Specks (Copepods) clouding the reef like areas of fog, but they have lessened dramatically.

The sand around the reef is having a bloom of red algae of some sorts.

And more dust on the way.
