Research Assistant post available (Note: preference given to those with existing right to
work in UK - see footnote from UK Border Agency)
 
Research Network Facilitator- Reef Carbonate Production
 
Salary, Grade 5: Fixed Point - £20,226 per annum, pro-rata 
(Fixed Term Contract – 24months from Date of Appointment)
 
Applications are invitedfor a Network Facilitator (Research Assistant grade 5) to assist
with thecoordination of an International Research Network funded by the LeverhulmeTrust.
The primary aim of the network, which involves international partnersfrom the UK, New
Zealand, Australia, USA and Canada, is to develop a rapidfield-based assessment procedure
(and supporting online database) to allow thedevelopment of coral reef carbonate budgets.
The postholder will assist withthe day-to-day running of the network, with the
organisation and logisticalarrangements for both field-based and workshop-based meetings
of the networkpartners, with the collection of available reef carbonate production rate
data,and the development of a related online database. The postholder will also beexpected
to contribute to, and assist with, both field and workshop-basedmeetings of the network
partners. This will include a period of approximately 4weeks overseas on fieldwork.
 
Youshould have a minimum of a good BSc (Hons) degree (or equivalent) in a relevantfield of
Earth Science, Physical Geography, Environmental Science or MarineEcology and have
relevant coral reef ecological or geological researchexperience.
