Dear Listers

Applications are invited for a 4 year PhD scholarship at the University of Queensland, part of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Reef Studies. The student will join a diverse research group interested in coral biology, reef ecology, and reef conservation. It is anticipated that the student will be field-orientated and will work primarily at Heron Island though other locations in Australia and the Pacific are possible.

Eligibility is limited to Australian citizens and the position commences in April 2010. Interested parties should contact Prof Peter Mumby (p.j.mumby at ex.ac.uk) who will be moving to UQ in the spring. Please include your CV and 1 page statement on your research interests and plans, trying to be as specific as possible. Applicants should have at least an excellent first degree (though a masters degree would be advantageous) and ideally have started to publish their research. Closing date for applications is the 15th of November 2009.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
