Hello,

Given the great variation of coral reefs and reef habitats, I was wondering if a there is a system to grade reef habitats by the presence of indicator organisms and type of substrate. For instance, is there a system that describes a tier 1, tier 2, tier 3 and tier 4 reef habitats? Where 1 is a hard bottom with shell and rocks, 2 is a limestone out cropping, 3 is rock with reef building organisms and so on.
