Apologies for cross-postings

Dear colleagues

We would like to invite you to participate in the session, "Temperate,
deep and cold water reefs: studies on non-tropical reefs and their
inhabitants", being held at the Euro ISRS Symposium 2010 in Wageningen,
The Netherlands, December 13-17, 2010.

The European ISRS Symposium brings together researchers from various
fields of coral reef related disciplines, traditionally with a focus on
tropical coral reef ecosystems. For the third time, after Cambridge 2002
and Bremen 2006, a session on temperate, deep and cold water coral reefs
is hosted. In the past, this session has been very successful in the
presentation and discussion of current scientific findings, while
promoting the exchange between researchers from the tropical and
non-tropical fields of coral reef science. Bridging the gap to the
upcoming 5th Deep-sea Coral Symposium in 2012, this session will provide
an opportunity to present ongoing research to an interdisciplinary
international audience.
With respect to the overarching theme of Euro ISRS Symposium 2010 "Reefs
in a changing environment", the focus of this session will be on impacts
of environmental change affecting temperate, deep and cold water corals
and their ecosystems. Submissions covering current topics including 1)
ocean acidification and warming, 2) habitat destruction by fisheries,
deep-sea mining and pollution or 3) ecological consequences for corals,
reef ecosystems, and their functioning are encouraged, but please do not
feel limited by these suggestions.

Abstracts for oral and poster presentations can be submitted until the 1st
of July 2010.

For abstract submission, registration, and further information, please
visit: http://www.isrs2010.org/home

If you know of anyone who might be interested and not receiving this
notice, please pass it along. We look forward to your participation.
