I had a "domestic" freshwater snail I purchased at Wal-Mart to put in a gold fish bowl.  A few days later one of the goldfish was floating atop with most of its facial area gone. This happened again to another victim a few days later. Then one morning as I prepared a cup of coffee I watched the snail release itself from the side of the bowl, glide pelagically across the water and attack my last unsuspecting goldfish and suck its face off! This snail was a strategic, forceful, and tactically effective predator!
