[Coral-List] Viral Disease - Particularly from Herpes - Gaining Interest as Possible Cause of Coral Decline

This was a very interesting idea. Recall that water toilets started appearing in large scale only in the 20th century. The flushing out of human feces to the ocean coincides in time with the coral decline. Maybe it is not the nutrients (or not only the nutrients) but the viruses too? Yet another argument to process sewage and keep the fresh water on land, where it is getting increasingly scarce.
