Institute has over 175 staff and postgraduate students at the University’s
Nathan and Gold Coast campuses and undertakes high quality research and
postgraduate training in freshwater, estuarine, and coastal ecology.

Dr Diaz-Pulido research program focuses on understanding the consequences
of human impacts on coral reef ecology, coral–algal dynamics, and in
particular, ocean acidification on coral – macroalgal interactions. While
significant progress has been made to understand the biological and
physiological consequences of human-induced ocean acidification on algae
and corals, very little is known about the ecological ramifications on
coral reefs. *This is a fixed term (2 years), full time position based at
the Nathan campus. *

Institute of Technology to develop an active research program on ocean
acidification effects on coral reefs, particularly coral-algal
interactions. Duties will include field and laboratory work, publish in
high quality journals, contribute to supervision of research higher degree
students and assist with the development and preparation of research grant
proposals. The Research Fellow will be funded by a grant from the
Australian Research Council and will assist Dr Diaz-Pulido with existing
projects in the field of ocean acidification impacts on coral reefs and
with the development of new research opportunities.
