ERM seeks an exceptional individual to join as an Assistant Consultant in our Marine Sciences team in Hong Kong. The role will be specifically to assist marine related Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) projects in Hong Kong and throughout the Asia Pacific region.
THE CANDIDATE:
Ideal candidates will be enthusiastic and energetic; they will be persuasive communicators (both verbal and written) who are comfortable in dealing with management and operators at all levels. You must have a passion for marine environmental science and have a background in impact assessment (EIA). You will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of projects in the marine environment, ranging from baseline surveys to site selection, EIAs and EM&A programmes, and strategy studies to marine conservation.
REQUIREMENTS:
*         Candidates should have a postgraduate qualification in Marine Ecology, Oceanography, Marine Science or Coastal Engineering;
*         Specialism in marine ecology is desirable, preferably with field work experience and preferably within Hong Kong or Southeast Asia;
*         A good knowledge of biological statistical analysis would be advantage;
*         Experience in environmental consultancy or environment focussed non-governmental organisations is essential;
*         Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team is essential;
*         Excellent report writing skills. Fluency in both written and spoken English is a fundamental requirement. Chinese or other language of the Asia pacific region is considered advantageous.
