Hola Jessica,
During the development of a cruise ship terminal named Port of Roatan in Honduras, the environmental licence issued by the government circa 2007, included within the mitigation requirements that the company should support a process that would end up in the declaration of a MPA now known as Cordelia Banks. This site has an extensive live coral cover greatly dominated by Acropora cervicornis.
The company did support the process, initially by financing biophysical studies of the site and right now are even supporting government and NGOs in the making and application of a respective management plan.
Best,
Andrés AlegríaCenter for Marine StudiesHonduraswww.utilaecology.org
