The Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) recently launched by the Global Change Institute here at The University of Queensland helps to make sense of climate change denial and how to better communicate climate change. This course is a real game-changer! The 97% consensus of scientists study that President Obama recently tweeted was led by John Cook, the coordinator of this course.
After tremendous work by the team, the course <https://www.edx.org/course/making-sense-climate-science-denial-uqx-denial101x> includes a compelling lecture series along with perspectives and discussion from leaders such as Sir David Attenborough, Michael Mann, and Naomi Oreskes, and has already attracted over 10,000 participants. Seven weeks long, the course requires 1-2 hours per week.
Denial101x is part of the Harvard/MIT/UQ EDx network and essentially equips participants with the tools they need to understand the drivers of climate science denial and help participants debunk climate misinformation. It is a must for people everywhere as we head for Paris and COP21 in December.
