Gili Lankanfushi, an eco-conscious resort in the Maldives is seeking an experienced Marine Biologist and Environmental Officer; a talented environmental program manager who has a keen interest in sustainability and fascination for the stunning marine life of the Indian Ocean.

The Marine Biologist and Environmental Officer is responsible and accountable for all functions and activities related to marine and island biodiversity.  You will manage the resort’s environmental performance which includes; driving the island’s extensive awareness programme, coordinating internal and external conservation projects and consulting and implementing the resort’s sustainability development.

*ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS*

-Bachelors degree in Ecological Science (preferably marine biology or sustainability)
-Minimum of two (2) years experience working in a similar position within a resort environment
-Knowledge in managing coral restoration projects, preferably “rope coral nursery” method
-Certified PADI rescue diver with more than one hundred logged dives and familiar of underwater survey techniques.
-Excellent communication and guest contact skills with the ability to conduct regular presentations and organise guided snorkelling tours
-Confident in building relationships with different government agencies, NGO’s, resorts and local islands.
-Excellent level of English with an ability to write professional reports as well as writing engaging articles for blogging platforms.
-Proficiency in MS Office package as well as advanced skills in MiniTab, HoboWare and CPC’e.
-Experience in coastal dynamics and beach erosion management is an advantage
