We did a webinar about this topic last month with Martha Honey from the Center for Responsible Tourism (CREST): https://www.openchannels.org/webinars/2015/lessons-learned-impacts-coastal-and-ocean-tourism <https://www.openchannels.org/webinars/2015/lessons-learned-impacts-coastal-and-ocean-tourism>. She mentioned in the webinar a cost assessment they did for a new cruise terminal in Costa Rica, I believe. Something like 70 years for the town to recoup the costs of the terminal expansion because cruise tourism generates so little money for the ports they visit.
