The Coral Reef Alliance is an international, non-profit conservation
organization, dedicated to protecting coral reefs by integrating ecosystem
management and community partnerships. We are currently recruiting for an
associate program director with demonstrated experience in marine
conservation and program management. The associate program director will
have primary responsibility for ensuring the success of a portfolio of
cross disciplinary programs aimed at advancing coral reef conservation
initiatives and improving the effectiveness of local management
systems. The associate program director is part of a team comprised of peer
associate program directors and the program director, who are responsible
for designing and overseeing CORAL’s full range of programmatic activities.
Hawai‘i experience is highly desired.

*Qualifications*

The minimum required qualifications include a post-graduate degree (PhD,
MS) in conservation biology, natural resource management, social sciences
or related field and significant experience in project management. The
successful candidate must have US citizenship or residency. Additionally,
the associate program director must have:


   - A proven track record of leading teams to design, finance, and
   implement measurably successful conservation programs
   - At least 5 years of field conservation experience
   - Excellent organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to
   accomplish complex assignments requiring cross-organizational cooperation
   - Resourcefulness and ability to work proactively; ability to complete
   tasks independently, efficiently, and in a timely manner
   - Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to
   effectively communicate with individuals from a variety of disciplines,
   cultures and backgrounds
   - Flexibility and willingness to work in situations of flux; ability to
   work in a fast turn-around environment
   - Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership for wide-ranging
   responsibilities while exhibiting utmost professionalism and discretion
   - Budget development and financial tracking experience
