Coral Finder 3.0 http://www.byoguides.com/coralfinder/ <http://www.byoguides.com/coralfinder/> ...is fully revised and takes the tool in a new direction. Rather than print on polypropylene we have used 300GSM card with mat cello both sides. So it’s wet hands resistant but is NO LONGER an underwater tool.

There are a lot of reasons for this:
(a) from dozens of workshops we are convinced that people get a better ID result by taking photos and ID’ing them AFTER the dive...
(b) images allow ID’s to be reviewed in the future as experience grows or the taxonomy changes...
(b) printing on poly is expensive, and, an enormous quality assurance hassle; finally...
(c) we can lower the price.

Coral Finder 3.0 includes over a hundred new images. It also has about a hundred tweaks (derived from real world workshop training) that make it a better tool. It also has a new section about how to approach species ID.

As with previous editions… Coral Finder 3.0 is supported by a free comprehensive online video training course in English and Bahasa Indonesia: http://www.byoguides.com/resources/ <http://www.byoguides.com/resources/>

Coming later this year BYOGUIDES will extend these free resources in a series of new movies to assist users to incorporate / understand the changes to coral names being driven by molecular taxonomy.

If you want to be alerted to the arrival of these new resources please register for the BYOGUIDES newsletter at:
