Dear Coral Listers,

On February 24th, Coral Morphologic is proud to present ‘Coral Orgy’
<http://coralmorphologic.com/b/2017/02/08/coral-orgy-by-animal-collective-coral-morphologic>,
a collaborative site-specific performance with experimental pop group
Animal Collective at the Frank Gehry-designed New World Center on Miami
Beach as part of the 10th Borscht Film Festival

(the
same folks that shepherded Oscar-nominated 'Moonlight' into the world).
‘Coral Orgy’ is an audiovisual meditation on the cosmic synchronicity that
governs coral sex, and an invocation towards the scientific quest of
unlocking their reproductive secrets. Animal Collective will perform an
hour of new music inspired by their own explorations of the reef, while
Coral Morphologic projects a vibrant world of fluorescent coral inside the
New World Center performance hall using its state-of-the-art audio/visual
system. Before the performance wild coral spawning films will play outside
on the 7,000 square foot projection wall in Soundscape Park. The Soundscape
Park activations begin at 6 PM, doors open at 7 PM.

Through this event, Coral Morphologic and Animal Collective aim to
highlight the groundbreaking scientific work done on coral reproduction and
conservation by the non-profits Coral Restoration Foundation (USA), SECORE
(GER), and Project Coral (UK) and all the other hardworking scientists
around the world tackling this challenge.
We would love to see you all there!

Cheers,
Colin
