Dear Ulf,

My understanding is that the persistent organic pollutants have a half
life of 15 years. If they are transported globally, I am not convinced
that it is by the thermohaline circulation, which cycles in around 1500
years. If there is such a widespread dispersal, this is maybe through
the food chain and the movement of fish and marine mammals. Any ideas?

Best regards,
