SECORE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

PROJECT AND WORKSHOP MANAGER

SECORE International, Inc. is announcing that it is looking for a qualified
person to serve as our Project and Workshop Manager (PWM).

SECORE is a renowned coral reef conservation and restoration organization
with a global network of scientists, public aquarium professionals and local
stakeholders. SECORE applies a holistic approach to restoration combining
the latest research, education, outreach and active restoration for the
conservation of coral reefs. Together with the California Academy of
Sciences, the Columbus (Ohio) Zoo and The Nature Conservancy, SECORE has
recently launched the Global Coral Restoration Project to advance the
science, technology and application of innovative coral restoration
techniques.

As part of its conservation mission SECORE is in the process of expanding
its programs and research projects to many new areas around the world with
threatened coral reef systems. To help carry out all of our operations
SECORE is looking for a qualified manager to oversee the development and
efficient operation of its workshops and research/restoration projects at
its widespread locations.

The position offers a person with strong organizational skills an
opportunity to participate in the growth of a cutting edge scientific
endeavor. Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the PWM
will manage the administrative aspects of various Coral Restoration
Workshops in close collaboration with the staff at our field sites.
Coordinating the administrative aspects of the workshops including,
logistics of lodging, equipment, and everything necessary to make them a
success. The PWM will also have the significant and challenging
responsibility of dealing with the administrative and logistical needs of
our widespread research projects around the world. This would include
providing support services for anything from equipment purchasing and
delivery to coordinating meetings and conferences.

The position will put the successful candidate in contact with numerous
scientists, students, SECORE employees and other people involved in projects
around the world. It will require good "people skills" and an ability to get
things done under sometimes challenging and complicated conditions. The
ability to work cooperatively and effectively with diverse people is
important to this position. Working experience in coral husbandry,
restoration, field research or related field is a plus. 

The position will provide the opportunity to travel from time to time to
various SECORE research sites and to meet and interact with experts and
others contributing to an important conservation effort and advancing
restoration technology.
