I am pleased to announce that NOAA's Small Business Innovation and Research
(SBIR) program is currently soliciting proposals to *improve coral
restoration nursery design and outplanting. *

Phase 1 proposals are due *January 31, 2018* - and awards are up to $120K
for a six-month performance period*.** (Phase 2 is for up to $400K with a
24-month performance period.)* All the rules and the application process
are described

.. The SBIR program is competitive and encourages domestic small businesses
to engage in federal R&D with the potential for commercialization. The PDF
of the solicitation is attached - the description of the coral restoration
"sub-topic" is on page 67-69.

Please forward broadly (e.g. to engineering departments at universities)
and if you know any engineers, designers, or makers in small businesses -
please encourage them to apply. The more proposals received the more likely
we are to increase the efficiency and scale of coral restoration. If you've
always thought of how you could do it better - this is your chance!
