[Coral-List] A chain is only as strong as its weakest link

Dear colleagues,

This old crafts-person's saying is reminded in chapter "Social security" of
the book "The hidden life of trees: how they feel, how they communicate" by
Peter Wohlleben. In the previous chapter of the book, "The language of
trees" the author mentions that trees communicate by means of smell,
visual, electrical signals and sounds. Also, that they "warn each other
using chemical signals sent trough the fungal network around their root
tips, which operate no matter what the weather".

Involuntarily, corals and reef ecosystem came to mind ....

And, what about another reminding in the book that farm plants are easier
victims of insects?

I will greatly appreciated your advises and any information.

Cheers,

Vassil
