Due to the Federal Government shutdown, NOAA.gov and most associated web
sites are unavailable. This includes coral.aoml.noaa.gov, the server
that hosts Coral-List.

NOAA personnel have been given four hours today (Monday, January 22nd)
to effect graceful shutdowns of our systems. To some extent, systems
will remain online but not updated.

In the case of Coral-List we are interpreting furlough guidance in much
the same way as we did during the furlough in October of 2013: after
clearing out our moderation queues this morning, Coral-List will
continue to accept new submissions but these new posts will not be read,
moderated or forwarded until government funding resumes. Basically you
can continue to post to the list but nobody will see what you post until
post-shutdown.

Also please note that nonessential NOAA personnel are prohibited from
accessing government systems, including email servers, during the
shutdown. So you may contact us individually or collectively by email
but we will be unable to read your messages until this is over.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

regards,
