[Coral-List] Opportunity: $100, 000 in Prizes to Design the Saving Coral Reefs XPRIZE

This year, XPRIZE<https://www.xprize.org/> is asking for your help to design concepts that can help solve a global need in one of five grand challenge areas. We have launched the HeroX Visioneers 2018 Design Competition,<https://www.herox.com/xprizevisioneers-2018-design-challenge/53-corals> calling on thinkers and doers from around the globe to design the next incentive-based XPRIZE competition. XPRIZE is soliciting design concepts to help solve a global need around the five grand challenge areas of: off-grid energy, saving coral reefs, disaster prediction, improving livelihoods of rural farmers, and food security.

The designers of the best concepts will work with experts at XPRIZE to further refine their concepts and develop them into the robust, incentivized competitions that take a global stage at our premier annual event, the 2018 Visioneers Summit.

To enter, competitors will submit a high-level competition design, along with a 90-120 second “pitch video” where they share their passion for the topic and describe their design. Competitors will also have the opportunity to compete in a concurrent “Wiki” competition, where the crowd will be invited to add in data and supporting background information about the five Focus Areas.

The Saving Coral Reefs XPRIZE is seeking urgently needed innovations that can scale to protect and restore coral reefs. XPRIZE has prioritized three broad areas for prize design: Coral Restoration, Local Coral Protection, and Climate Resilience. Overall, the prize should incentivize innovative breakthroughs in creating a world of abundant, healthy corals. XPRIZE is seeking your input to design amazing prizes in each of these areas.
