Dear all

I am the coordinating author for the World Ocean Assessment Section 4, Sub-chapter 5d: Tropical and Subtropical Coral Reefs. This is a science to policy document for the United Nations. I am therefore seeking experts across the broad science of 'coral reefs' to assist in the writing. The writing teams of WOA III are expected to be established by the end of this year (2023), and the writing teams are expected to begin their work in the first half of 2024. WOA III is expected to be published at the end of 2025. I will pay particular attention to not only broad skill sets, specialism and experience but also gender balance and geographical representation when selecting the writing team members. The Bureau of the Regular Process will also review these two elements when approving the composition of WOA 3 writing teams in the new year after my recommendations. If interested to learn more, please email me at m.sweet at derby.ac.uk<mailto:m.sweet at derby.ac.uk>. Attaching a CV and/or a brief synopsis of your area of expertise would be useful so I can assess suitability.

I look forward to working with some of you on this important document

Best
