[Coral-List] Workshop "Shark of the Maldives", 9-16 December 2023

Dear all,

with this mail I would like to inform you that registration is open for the first edition of the workshop “SHARKS OF THE MALDIVES: Introduction to field based research and monitoring techniques” which will take place on the Liveaboard M/Y Island Safari 2 in the Central Atolls of the Maldives from the 9 to the 16 December 2023. 
The workshop is realised through the collaboration of MaRHE Center of the University of Milano-Bicocca (www.marhe.unimib.it), with Shark Research Mexico (https://www.sharkresearchmexico.com/) and White Wave Maldives (https://whitewavemaldives.com/).
The workshop will be carried out in English language through theoretical lessons, practical sessions on shark data collection and analysis, on-hands activities, and scuba diving in different reefs of the Maldivian archipelago (2 dives per day are scheduled and a third dive could be scheduled some days).
Each participant must be an Advanced certified divers, with a minimum number of 30 logged dives. However, the selection of Open Water certified divers with proven experience is not excluded. Recognition of training credits are foreseen for University students.

Registration deadline is 1st November 2023. The places available are limited and a selection will be made if the participants are more than the maximum number allowed.
